Digital Blackbook
Graffiti Analysis 2.0
An open XML archive of motion capture graffiti data.
Digital Blackbook (Graffiti Analysis 2.0) is an ongoing process of capturing, archiving and visualizing the motion of graffiti writers during the creation of tag. Tags are recorded through custom open source motion tracking software which isolates a small light source attached to the writers pen. The resulting data is archived in an open online database free for others to download and use as an input to other digital systems. Graffiti writers are invited to capture and share their own tags and computer programmers are invited to create new applications and visualizations of the resulting data. The project aims to bring together two seemingly disparate communities that share an interest hacking systems, whether found in code or in the city.
